The National Highways and Motorway Police has issued a travel advisory as rain and strong winds continue to affect various parts of the country.
According to the advisory, the ongoing weather system, which began on April 1, is expected to persist until April 4, bringing rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds to multiple regions. The department warned that heavy rain may reduce visibility and make roads slippery, increasing the risk of accidents.
The advisory highlighted that strong winds and thunderstorms may impact upper and plain areas, while the risk of landslides remains in hilly regions. It also cautioned about possible flooding in Balochistan due to heavy rainfall.
Motorists have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions. Drivers have been advised to reduce speed, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, and ensure that headlights, brakes, and wipers are in proper working condition.
The NHMP also warned against sudden braking and the use of mobile phones while driving, stressing the importance of staying fully attentive on the road.
Travelers have been advised to remain informed about weather and road conditions before and during their journeys. In case of emergencies, citizens can contact the NHMP helpline 130 or follow official updates through its communication channels.
