Honor Play 80 Pro Debuts with Large Battery and Budget Price

Honor has introduced the Play 80 Pro in China, expanding its budget lineup with a device focused on battery life and 5G connectivity.

Design and Display

The Honor Play 80 Pro features a 6.8-inch LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1610 pixels. The panel delivers up to 850 nits of peak brightness and appears to use a standard 60Hz refresh rate, as no higher refresh rate has been specified.

The device measures 166.89 x 76.8 x 8.24mm and weighs 207g. It is available in blue, white, and black color options.

The phone carries an IP65 rating for dust and splash resistance and supports operation with wet hands. It also includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and dual speakers. The Honor Play 80 Pro can be bought in blue, white, and black.

Internals and Software

The Play 80 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset with 5G support. It is offered in three configurations: 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB of RAM, each paired with 256GB of internal storage. The device runs MagicOS 9 based on Android 15.

Connectivity features include 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and support for multiple satellite positioning systems, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou.

Cameras

The phone is equipped with a 50MP rear camera. It supports 1080p video recording at 30fps. On the front, the device features a 5MP selfie camera, also capable of 1080p video recording.

The Honor Play 80 Pro includes a 7,000mAh battery.

Pricing starts at $275 for the 6GB/256GB variant. The 8GB/256GB model is priced at $304, while the 12GB/256GB version costs $333. The device is currently available in China.
