How to Get Rs. 2,000 Petrol Subsidy in Sindh

The Sindh government has announced a fuel subsidy of Rs. 2,000 per month for motorcycle owners under a scheme introduced by the federal government a day earlier.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah made the announcement while addressing a press conference on Friday, saying the move comes after the recent increase in fuel prices. He said the government had to take “difficult decisions” in the current situation, adding that the subsidy is aimed at providing relief to citizens.

Under the scheme, every motorcyclist will receive Rs. 2,000 per month. The Excise Department will launch an application in the coming days for registration.

Motorcycle owners will be required to enter their CNIC number in the app, which will verify whether the vehicle is registered in their name. The government has also abolished motorcycle transfer fees to facilitate ownership transfers.

If a motorcycle is not registered under the applicant’s name, it will not appear in the system, and the individual will not be eligible for the subsidy. Applicants will also be required to provide their bank account details (IBAN), and payments are expected to be transferred around April 15.
