Jet fuel price in Pakistan has been increased by Rs. 40 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs. 517.17 per litre, according to aviation sources.
The increase marks the sixth hike in jet fuel price within a month. Since March 1, the price has risen by Rs. 329.17 per litre.
Aviation sources said airlines are likely to increase domestic and international fares following the latest increase.
The development comes as the Pakistan Airports Authority has extended its Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) for airlines due to a shortage of Jet A-1 fuel until April 15.
According to the notice, airlines have been directed to operate flights departing from Pakistan with reduced fuel loads, while inbound flights must carry the maximum possible jet fuel.
