The Sindh Bar Council has directed lawyers across the province to remove unauthorized monograms and insignia from their vehicles within 15 days, warning of disciplinary action in case of non-compliance.
In a circular issued on April 3, the council said it had received complaints from the Sindh Police regarding the widespread use of monograms bearing titles such as “Advocate,” “High Court of Sindh,” and “Sindh Bar Council” on vehicles.
The council stated that the use of such insignia is not permitted under the Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Act, 1973, and the Sindh Legal Practitioners and Bar Council Rules, 2017.
It instructed all advocates in Sindh to immediately remove these monograms, metal plates, and insignia from their cars, motorcycles, and other modes of transport within the given timeframe.
The circular warned that vehicles displaying such unauthorized markings will be identified within court premises, and disciplinary proceedings will be initiated under the relevant rules.
The council also noted that some lawyers have been printing the Sindh Bar Council insignia on their visiting cards, which it termed a violation of professional conduct.
It said the Privilege and Vigilance Committee has been authorized to collect information after the deadline and refer cases to the Disciplinary Committee. However, the circular clarified that only elected members of the Sindh Bar Council are permitted to use official insignia or monograms on their vehicles and visiting cards in accordance with the rules.
Only elected representative shall of district or taluka bar or Sindh bar council can use insignia!! While none enrolled advocate can use it ?? Absurd ridiculous 🫣

I request all the Bar Councils of Pakistan to kindly request the lawyer fertinity to kindly remove such plates. Doesn’t fare well with their profession which is all about withholding the law.
I humbly urge the Council under what section or article it is prohibited to use any monogram on the vehicle?

No body should be allowed to display his designation or his business name on the vehicle
I thing this decision Shuld be applied to all the civil servant and all arms forces not only to advocate.no govt employee or officer would be allowed to use their identity.
Armed forces are allowed to display by military law all across the world but judiciary is barred from doing so. Little knowledge of youthias is dangerous
but many private persons , who are not advocates, are using such monograms and advovocate plates on their vehicles,,,,, is there any authority to stop this practice to such people, who are actually criminals????
Lawyers should not be above law . The insignias imply Threat. The decision must be implemented fully.

Elite culture should end in all respects across the board including large motorcades of so called public servants.
Good laws should not be restricted to only one province, it should be applied across Pakistan which will be in the best interest of the country and the public.
In my opinion no one should use his designations / powers outside his office to influence others, this is a white color crime to subjugate others. this is a threat as well. Anyone doing so should be harshly punished by terminating his services without appealing rights
