KP Unveils Rs. 1 Trillion Plan to Boost Merged Districts

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Sohail Afridi announced a Rs. 1 trillion development package for the province’s merged districts, with Rs. 400 billion allocated to health and education.

Speaking at the Bajaur Sports Complex, Afridi said the plan would target key sectors to improve living standards across the districts. He added that the provincial government is committed to ensuring that public resources are used for the welfare of the people.

Afridi also announced several projects for Bajaur, including the establishment of a university campus, improved connectivity with the Dir and Swat motorways, and the revival of the Bajaur Nursing College, which has remained closed since 2007.

CM Afridi assured participants that there would be no negligence in executing development schemes, emphasizing transparency and timely delivery.

Key initiatives include the allocation of funds for Bara Dam in the upcoming financial year, ongoing progress on the Khyber Industrial Zone, and the resolution of issues surrounding Jabba Dam.

Addressing tribal elders and political and religious leaders, Afridi said the provincial government is working toward sustainable peace in the tribal areas and stressed that achieving this goal requires the involvement of all stakeholders.
