The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) has introduced an artificial intelligence (AI) curriculum aimed at equipping students with digital skills from an early stage.
According to the authority, the development meets the timeline set by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
In a statement, PECTAA said its Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Musa Ali Bokhari presented the first draft of the curriculum to the provincial education minister and the parliamentary secretary.
The authority said the curriculum is designed to cover a wide range of topics, from basic computing concepts to advanced areas such as data science, machine learning, robotics, and ethical AI.
It added that the framework has been structured in an age-appropriate manner to ensure students develop skills progressively, enabling them to move beyond basic usage of technology toward innovation and practical application.
PECTAA said the curriculum also incorporates global standards while maintaining relevance to local needs, with a focus on ethics, governance, problem-solving, creativity, and responsible digital citizenship. The authority said the initiative is aimed at preparing students to adapt to the evolving demands of the digital era.
