Bahrain’s national carrier, Gulf Air, is set to operate special flights from Dammam to Lahore and Islamabad later this month.
Under the schedule, the Bahraini carrier will run two weekly flights from Dammam to Lahore from April 7 to April 30. It will also operate one weekly flight from Dammam to Islamabad between April 14 and April 28.
The arrangement is part of the airline’s temporary operational shift to Dammam, which has effectively become a backup departure point while Bahrain’s airspace remains closed.
To facilitate passengers originating from Bahrain, Gulf Air has also arranged bus transportation between Bahrain and Dammam.
This means the flights are not simply an ordinary short-term route addition, but part of a wider contingency plan to keep key international sectors running despite disruptions at the airline’s home base.
Gulf Air is Bahrain’s national carrier and one of the Middle East’s oldest commercial airlines, with operations dating back to 1950. Based at Bahrain International Airport, the airline serves more than 50 destinations across Asia, Europe, and Africa with a fleet that includes Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.
