Warner Bros. Games and HBO have revealed Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, a free-to-play mobile strategy game set in the timeline of House of the Dragon.
Developed by Warner Bros. Games Boston, the game is now open for pre-registration on iOS, Android, and its official website. While a specific release date has not been confirmed, it is expected to launch later in 2026, aligning with the premiere of House of the Dragon Season 3 in June.
The game takes place 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen, during the Dance of the Dragons, a civil war within House Targaryen that forms the core storyline of House of the Dragon.
Players take on the role of a Valyrian descendant tasked with hatching, training, and riding dragons. The gameplay focuses on building armies, expanding territory, and engaging in tile-based tactical combat to gain control of the Seven Kingdoms.
The announcement trailer features Rhaenyra Targaryen, with the likeness of Emma D’Arcy, delivering a voice line tied to the game’s theme of power and conquest.
The game includes characters from the series, such as Rhaenyra Targaryen, Alicent Hightower, Aemond Targaryen, and Corlys Velaryon, alongside new original characters created specifically for the game.
Players can form alliances and factions with others, with gameplay structured around eight-week campaigns. These campaigns function as seasonal scenarios, each featuring different objectives and narrative elements.
Players who pre-register receive 100 Gold as an immediate in-game reward.
Additional rewards are tied to community milestones. At 1 million sign-ups, players unlock six Banner Maker Sigils. At 2 million, 1,000 Runic Fragments become available. At 5 million, two avatars are unlocked.
If pre-registrations reach 10 million, all registered players will receive the Dawnseeker dragon, described as a rare and exclusive reward available at launch.
