Upcoming Islamabad Talks

Separately, PM Shehbaz chaired a high-level consultative meeting attended by senior civil and military leadership to review developments linked to the upcoming Islamabad talks.

This session included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, the Foreign Secretary, and senior members of the military leadership.

Participants observed that Pakistan’s constructive and balanced role in facilitating ceasefire diplomacy was being widely acknowledged at the international level. They thanked the Army Chief for his key role in advancing mediation efforts and contributing to de-escalation initiatives in the Gulf region.

It is no secret that Pakistan recently helped broker a two-week ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran. The government succeeded in convincing both parties to negotiate at Serena Hotel Islamabad on Saturday.
