Babar Azam Reaches Another Historic Milestone in PSL

Babar Azam added another major milestone to his growing legacy on Saturday by becoming the first player in Pakistan Super League (PSL) history to score 4,000 runs.

The landmark came during Peshawar Zalmi’s PSL 11 clash against Lahore Qalandars at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, where Babar Azam once again found himself at the center of a record-breaking moment.

Already one of the league’s most consistent performers, Babar Azam has now become the first batter to cross the 4,000-run mark in the PSL.

Babar’s PSL journey began with Islamabad United in the inaugural 2016 season before he moved to Karachi Kings in 2017. He went on to become the face of Karachi’s batting lineup and played a key role in the franchise’s title-winning campaign in 2020.

That year, Babar finished as the highest run-scorer of the tournament with 473 runs and was also named Player of the Tournament. He followed that up with another dominant season in 2021, when he again topped the scoring charts with 554 runs.

After joining Peshawar Zalmi in 2023, Babar continued his remarkable run in the league. In 2024, he once again finished as the tournament’s leading run-getter, this time scoring 565 runs.

Now, in PSL 11, he has reached yet another historic milestone by becoming the first player to score more than 4,000 runs in the competition.

The latest feat comes just as Zalmi look to build on their recent momentum and push for another important win. Defending champions Lahore Qalandars won the toss and chose to bowl first, but Babar once again ensured the spotlight remained firmly on him.

He also looked in good touch during the ongoing contest and was involved in another important stand with Kusal Mendis.
