Oppo is preparing to launch a compact tablet, the Oppo Pad Mini, targeting users looking for a better gaming and media experience than a smartphone.
The device is scheduled to debut globally on April 21 alongside the Oppo Find X9 Ultra. Pricing details have not yet been announced.
Design and Display
The Oppo Pad Mini is expected to feature an 8.8-inch OLED display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a 144Hz refresh rate.
Leaks suggest the panel will have a resolution of 2880 × 1920 and use LTPO technology, allowing the refresh rate to scale between 1Hz and 144Hz. Peak brightness is tipped at 1800 nits, along with full DCI-P3 color support.
The tablet is expected to measure 5.39mm in thickness and weigh around 279 grams. It may feature a unibody metal design and come in dark gray, purple, and cyan color options. The front is expected to include a punch-hole camera and thin bezels.
Performance and Hardware
The device is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.
While this chip is said to be around 30% slower than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 used in competing tablets, it is still expected to deliver strong performance for gaming and everyday use.
Cameras and Connectivity
On the back, the Oppo Pad Mini is expected to include a 13MP camera housed in a capsule-style module.
The tablet may also support eSIM functionality, allowing it to operate without relying solely on Wi-Fi connectivity.
Battery and Charging
The Oppo Pad Mini is tipped to include an 8000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging.
