The Punjab Education Department has uncovered discrepancies in the records of nearly 1.7 million students enrolled in public schools, with missing or incorrect B-Form numbers.
Taking immediate notice, the department has ordered the complete digitisation of student data and directed schools to update accurate B-Form numbers in the School Information System.
Officials said the process of assigning a Unique Student ID to every student will also be accelerated to improve transparency and efficiency in educational data management.
District Education Authorities have been instructed to take urgent corrective measures, while school heads have been directed to verify B-Forms before ensuring proper data entry.
The department has also ordered completion of records for students without B-Forms, setting April 30, 2026, as the deadline to finalise the data correction process.
