Supernet Technologies Limited (PSX: STL) has announced the deployment of its first satellite-based connectivity solution in Africa, according to a filing with the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The deployment has been completed in Tanzania, where the company’s subsidiary SupernetGlobal is providing internet connectivity through satellite infrastructure.
According to the company, this is its first satellite-based service in Africa, although it already has an international presence through operations in the United Arab Emirates.
For background, Supernet Technologies Limited is a Pakistan-based technology and communications company. The company has historically worked across telecom, defense, enterprise, and financial sector connectivity solutions, making satellite and mission-critical communications one of its core strengths.
The company said the Tanzania deployment forms part of its international expansion and may serve as a basis for further operations in other African markets.
It also stated that it may expand additional services, including cybersecurity and digital solutions, in international markets over time.
