28 Housing Schemes Declared Illegal in Sahiwal District

The Sahiwal district administration has declared 28 private housing schemes illegal and barred the public from buying or selling plots in them.

Deputy Commissioner Samiullah Farooq said the schemes fall under the Sahiwal Zila Council and lack required legal approvals. He added that most of these projects were launched between 2015 and 2025, but many remain largely undeveloped, while others have seen only 20 to 25 percent progress.

Under the rules, a housing scheme must complete at least 20 percent development to qualify as legal. He said only one scheme has reached around 90 percent completion.

Of the total, 15 schemes are located in Sahiwal tehsil, including Azeem City, Khayaban-e-Sadar, Dream Land, Rehmat Block, Al-Madina Block, Ali Garden, Dream Gardens, Al-Haram Villas, Al-Rehman City Bungalow, Top City, Marina Farms, Al-Shakoor Block, Khawar Block, Super City Phase II and Ayesha City.

The remaining 13 schemes are in Chichawatni tehsil, including Abdullah Block, Ashraf Block, Bilal Garden, Dream Land, Hadi Town, Iris City, Subhani Garden, Lasani Town, Rehman Town, Shahid Town, Zahid Block, Manzoor Garden and Ahad Block.

Officials said these schemes lack mandatory No Objection Certificates and other legal documentation. District Planning Officer Javed Anwar Gondal said multiple notices had been issued over the past five to six months, but the owners failed to comply with legal requirements.

The administration has warned citizens against investing in these projects.
