Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday approved a big reduction in diesel prices as economic factors started stabilizing during the week.
The Prime Minister has sanctioned a cut of Rs. 32.12 per litre in the price of diesel. Following the approval, the price of diesel has been reduced from Rs. 385.54 per litre to Rs. 353.43 per litre.
The Prime Minister added that the government’s priority is to ensure that the benefits of declining global oil prices are transferred to the public as quickly as possible. He added that the impact of reduced petroleum prices will be passed on to consumers without delay.
Officials further confirmed that implementation of the new prices will be carried out at the earliest possible stage to ensure immediate relief for citizens.

Diesel price directly impact the prices of commodities. The diesel should not be more than 230 PKR even when Government gets double the actual price.
