The Karachi city administration has announced strict regulations for the establishment of cattle markets ahead of Eidul Azha, making it mandatory for all operators to obtain permits from the Commissioner’s Office.
The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Syed Hassan Naqvi. The meeting was attended by senior officials from police, traffic authorities, municipal bodies, and cantonment boards, while deputy commissioners participated via video link.
Under the new policy, no cattle market will be allowed to operate without prior approval. The permits will be issued only after consultation with police and traffic authorities to ensure proper management and security arrangements.
Officials made it clear that any unauthorised cattle markets will be considered illegal and will face strict action.
The administration has also directed all deputy commissioners and law enforcement agencies to take coordinated steps to prevent the establishment of illegal cattle markets across the city.
