Punjab Announces 460 Scholarships for Balochistan Students

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced 460 scholarships for students from Balochistan for the academic year 2025–26, aiming to promote equal access to higher education.

The initiative targets low-income and deserving students and seeks to bridge educational gaps between provinces. Applications are being invited through the Balochistan Education Endowment Fund (BEEF).

Officials said the program will enable more students to pursue higher education and achieve their academic goals, particularly in areas with limited educational opportunities.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti welcomed the initiative and thanked the Punjab government for its support. He termed the move a positive step towards inter-provincial cooperation and social development.

Bugti emphasized that education is a fundamental right and reiterated his government’s commitment to reforms in the education sector, including upgrading schools, improving infrastructure, and addressing disparities in remote areas.

The scholarship program reflects efforts to create a more inclusive and equitable education system across Pakistan.
