Managing Director (MD) of Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA), Muhammad Ahsan Younus, on Sunday revealed a transformative digital safety upgrade under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, unveiling panic buttons and smart apps for instant response, seamless coordination with authorities, and faster emergency support, alongside integration of educational institutions into the system.
Talking to a local news channel, he said the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has highlighted its multilingual key features to ensure that citizens from all backgrounds can easily access and understand the system.
He added that the platform has been designed with user-friendly interfaces so that help is available to everyone without any communication barrier.
He explained that the digital panic button system is a central feature of the initiative, allowing citizens to instantly connect with the emergency helpline 15, share live locations, and receive immediate assistance from authorities in times of need.
He said the system is further integrated with smart applications that enable real-time video support and rapid response in critical situations, ensuring that help reaches citizens without delay.
He stated that the network also includes additional facilities aimed at improving public safety and strengthening emergency management across Punjab, making the system more responsive and efficient.
According to him, these tools are designed to ensure quick coordination between citizens and law enforcement agencies, helping create a faster, smarter, and more effective emergency response mechanism.
He appreciated the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, saying the initiative reflects a strong commitment to modernizing public safety through technology and building a safer and more responsive Punjab for all citizens.
PSCA MD lastly stressed the importance of public awareness, urging citizens to understand and properly use these digital safety tools so they can seek timely help in emergencies and fully benefit from the system.
