Citizens Break Security Barrier During VIP Movement in Karachi

Public frustration over VIP movement boiled over in Karachi after citizens reportedly broke through a security barrier at Bilawal Chowrangi following a prolonged road closure.

According to reports, the incident took place at around 9pm when traffic was stopped for nearly half an hour to allow a VIP convoy to pass. After waiting for a long time, several commuters, particularly motorcyclists, began moving forward despite police instructions, with some breaching the security cordon to cross the route.

A video circulating on social media shows police personnel attempting to hold back traffic while a large number of citizens ignore the VIP protocol and push ahead. However, the identity of the VIP personality linked to the movement has not yet been confirmed.

Eyewitnesses said the road closure caused serious inconvenience to the public, prompting angry reactions from stranded commuters.

The incident triggered mixed reactions online. Some users criticized VIP culture and repeated road blockades in the city, calling them a burden on ordinary citizens. Others said violating police orders during a security movement could create serious risks.

So far, neither Karachi Police nor the district administration has issued an official statement on the incident. However, the viral video has once again reignited debate over VIP protocol, traffic management and the difficulties such arrangements create for the public.
