Oppo is reportedly developing a new Reno series phone with an unusual design that aims to deliver a foldable-like experience without using a folding display.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the device is currently being tested as an engineering prototype under the name “Reno X.”
Display and Design
The rumored Reno X is said to feature a 6.39-inch flat display with a resolution described as “21xx×13xx.”
The device reportedly uses a 16:10 aspect ratio, making it significantly wider than most modern smartphones.
A user in the comments section shared a possible design model measuring 143mm by 91mm, with the tipster responding that the Reno X prototype looks very similar.
Hardware and Cameras
The prototype is rumored to use a flagship Dimensity 9-series chipset. It may also include a battery with a capacity of around 7,000mAh.
For cameras, the phone is expected to feature a triple-camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor and a periscope telephoto camera.
Possible Launch Timeline
According to the leak, Oppo’s current internal plan is to launch the Reno X alongside its next flagship lineup, which is expected to be the Find X10 series.
The tipster also noted that the device’s specifications are not finalized and could still change during development.
