A journalist close to US President Donald Trump on Wednesday said that while discussions around a potential US–Iran peace agreement are ongoing, no final deal has been reached yet.
Caitlin Doornbos, who writes for the New York Post, tweeted on X that Trump has downplayed reports suggesting progress toward a breakthrough, saying it is still “too soon” to consider any celebratory diplomatic moves, including a possible visit to Islamabad.
“It’s too far. No, it’s too much,” Trump told her when asked about preparations linked to a potential peace agreement and a Pakistan visit.
The journalist added that Trump had previously hinted he might travel to Pakistan for a formal deal-signing ceremony, but such plans remain premature as negotiations have not yet reached a conclusive stage.
