Punjab has launched a new facility allowing citizens to obtain marriage certificates through designated E-Khidmat service centers across the province.
The service, introduced under the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), is currently available at 15 E-Khidmat centers.
The initiative aims to simplify the marriage registration process by providing a faster, secure, and hassle-free system for applicants.
According to officials, the centers will operate from 9 am to 5 pm for citizens seeking marriage certificates.
Applicants can also get information through the official e-Khidmat portal at e-Khidmat Punjab or by calling the helpline 1317.
Authorities said every married couple must register their marriage with the relevant union council.
Required documents include the Nikah Nama, copies of the CNICs of the bride and groom, copies of the parents’ identity cards, and copies of witnesses’ CNICs.
Either spouse can visit the union council office to complete the registration process. After document verification, officials enter the details into the official system and provide a proofreading printout for confirmation.
Once the applicant signs the document, the union council issues the marriage certificate after final verification.
Meanwhile, NADRA’s digital marriage certificate service through the Pak ID mobile application is currently available in selected areas, including Chakwal, Nankana Sahib, Quetta, and Karachi East.
