The Excise Department Punjab has started implementing a new policy of vehicles registration from other provinces.

For the convenience of citizens and to increase revenue, the Excise Department has decided to simplify the process of registration of inter-provincial vehicles, official sources said here on Sunday.

Under the new policy, vehicles registered in other provinces can now be registered in Punjab as well.

According to Excise Department officials, NOC and clearance from the Excise Department of the relevant province have been made mandatory for the registration of another provincial vehicle.

Citizens will have to submit NOC to the Punjab Excise Office, after which the registration process will be completed.

Officials say that the aim of this move is to make the process of transferring vehicles easier for citizens and increase government revenue.

The registration of the first inter-provincial vehicle has been completed in Lahore, while applications have also started being received at excise offices.

    • Those babu morons love to complicate life for citizens by creating unnecessary red tape & bribe taking opportunities even when it is self defeating for the government.

  • How silly, why should I bother to get NOC from ICT which will definitely break my back. If they want us to get our token tax they should device a system like mobile number porting. They do all the work and give us new number and card free of cost.
Frankly I am happy with my ICT number.

  • The procedure of obtaining NOC can be terrible. I once tried to get an NOC for my Karachi registered car, and was made to run between 3 offices in different locations of the city. As is normal, the concerned officer was either not available or in meeting. After a week of absence from office, I gave up trying for the NOC and was forced to sell off the car.
