Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has launched a special surveillance plan to strengthen security arrangements at cattle markets across Punjab ahead of Eid ul Azha.
According to the authority, monitoring operations are being carried out through Safe City cameras, drone surveillance, and portable 4G cameras at cattle markets, including in Lahore.
A spokesperson for PSCA said 24-hour monitoring of cattle markets and surrounding areas was underway through the Virtual Patrolling Center established at the authority’s headquarters.
The spokesperson added that additional portable 4G cameras were being installed at various cattle markets to improve surveillance of sensitive areas as well as entry and exit points. According to PSCA, any suspicious activity identified through the surveillance systems is being immediately communicated to police and field teams for prompt action.
The authority further stated that illegal cattle markets and unauthorized sale points were also being identified and reported to the relevant departments to help ensure organized and secure arrangements for citizens ahead of Eid ul Azha.
