Bata Pakistan Merges 2 Lahore Plants Into Single Facility

Bata Pakistan Limited (PSX: BATA) has approved the consolidation of its manufacturing operations in Lahore, bringing production activities from two facilities under a single integrated manufacturing site as part of an efficiency and cost optimization strategy.

In a disclosure to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company said its Board of Directors approved the integration of production operations currently carried out at the Batapur Factory on GT Road and the Maraka Factory on Multan Road into a single manufacturing facility located at Batapur.

The move is aligned with Bata Global’s wider strategy of optimizing manufacturing operations worldwide through lean manufacturing practices and restructuring its production footprint. The company said the initiative is aimed at improving operational efficiency, enhancing productivity, achieving economies of scale and supporting future growth, including expansion into export markets.

According to the disclosure, production activities at the Maraka facility will be gradually shifted to Batapur in a phased manner. The consolidation process is scheduled to begin on June 1, 2026 and is expected to be completed by July 15, 2026, subject to operational and regulatory requirements.

Bata said it does not expect any material disruption to production activities, customer deliveries or supply commitments during the transition period. Management expects the consolidation to generate operational synergies, improve resource utilization and contribute to long term cost efficiencies.

The company also stated that employees affected by the restructuring will be managed in accordance with its human resources policies and applicable labor laws. The board said the decision was taken in the best interests of the company with the objective of strengthening long term sustainability, profitability and competitiveness.
