The Punjab government has approved the early disbursement of salaries, allowances, and pensions for government employees and pensioners for the month of July 2026.
According to a notification issued by the Punjab Finance Department on July 23, the government will release the payments on July 31, 2026, instead of the usual schedule.
The decision comes because August 1 and August 2, 2026, fall on Saturday and Sunday, which are gazetted holidays. The Finance Department said Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan approved the early release of salaries and pensions under the relevant provisions of the Punjab Financial Rules.
The notification has been sent to the Accountant General Punjab, treasury officers, district accounts officers, commissioners, deputy commissioners, the State Bank of Pakistan, and commercial banks to ensure the timely disbursement of payments.
The move will allow government employees and pensioners across Punjab to receive their salaries and pensions before the weekend holidays.
