The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has opened a new registration center in Karachi’s Gulzar-e-Hijri area to improve access to citizen services.
According to a NADRA spokesperson, the center was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by Federal Minister for Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and provincial assembly members Muhammad Adil Askari, Aamir Siddiqui, and Rao Shaukat.
The center has six one-window counters and can serve about 250 to 300 people daily. It also includes separate counters for Pak ID services and senior citizens, along with a self-service counter where citizens can process applications themselves.
To support people facing fingerprint verification problems, the center has an iris device for facial biometric verification.
Facilities for persons with disabilities, including wheelchair access, have also been provided. A standby generator has also been installed to ensure uninterrupted power supply, while the waiting area can seat 100 people.
The new facility is expected to benefit around 1.2 million to 1.5 million citizens from Gulzar-e-Hijri, Jamali Bridge, Scheme 33, Super Highway, Al-Asif, and nearby areas.
NADRA said an evening shift may be introduced if needed to further improve service delivery.
