Spotify Can Now Create AI Podcasts Based On Your Interests, Listening Habits, and Taste Profile

Spotify has introduced Personal Podcast, a new AI-powered feature that lets users create private audio episodes inside the Spotify app.

The feature allows users to enter a text prompt describing the kind of podcast they want. Spotify will then generate a personalized episode based on that input, along with the user’s interests and listening habits. Spotify said the feature draws on world knowledge and the user’s Spotify taste profile to create private audio.

Personal Podcast will also let users schedule recurring episodes. This means users can create daily briefings, weekly roundups, or one-time explainers on topics they want to follow. Spotify gave examples such as daily city updates with local concerts from artists a user likes, or a short explanation of economics.

Links, PDFs, and Text Can Add Context

Spotify will also allow users to add more context to generated podcasts.

Users can include links, PDFs, text, and other sources before generating an episode. They can also refine the prompt and choose a different AI voice for the podcast.

Each generated episode will remain private and will be saved in the Your Library section. Spotify said the episodes will be available only to the user who created them.

Rollout Starts in June

Spotify said Personal Podcast will begin rolling out to eligible Premium users in the US in June.

Users will receive a set number of monthly credits for podcast generation. Spotify will also give them the option to buy more credits if needed.

The feature follows Spotify’s earlier Save to Spotify beta tool, which lets users create personal audio through agents such as Claude Code or OpenAI Codex and save those episodes to Spotify. That tool is available for eligible Free and Premium users around the world.
