A new Pakistani airline, South Air, is set to begin test flight operations from today as part of its launch preparations for regional air services across the country.
According to the airline, the test flight will depart from Karachi and travel to Gwadar before heading to Quetta. The airline plans to operate ATR aircraft for its flights.
South Air has obtained a Tourism Promotion and Regional Integration (TPRI) license from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority to support tourism and regional connectivity.
The airline previously announced plans to connect regional airports across Pakistan to improve passenger convenience and expand domestic travel options.
According to the airline administration, South Air intends to operate flights to and from Multan, Gwadar, Turbat, Quetta, Karachi, Sukkur and Rahim Yar Khan. The airline has also submitted an application to the Civil Aviation Authority for a Regular Public Transport (RPT) license to begin commercial passenger operations.
