India’s Interior Minister Amit Shah has ordered authorities to demolish illegal buildings within 15 kilometers of the country’s border with Pakistan, his office said Wednesday.
The order applies to unauthorized constructions located within the 0 to 15 kilometer belt along the international border.
According to India’s home affairs ministry, Shah called for strict enforcement of a zero-tolerance policy against illegal constructions near the border.
Shah issued the directions during a visit to Rajasthan, a western Indian state that shares a border with Pakistan.
