The Regional Tax Office (RTO) Sahiwal has recovered Rs. 4 million from pizza brand Cheezious during an enforcement operation conducted under Section 175C of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.
According to an official statement issued by the Revenue Division on 30 May 2026, the action was taken after a monitoring team allegedly detected a big discrepancy between reported and actual sales figures.
At the same time, ProPakistani reached out to Cheezious for an official response to this matter. “It’s not 100% true, it’s an error at FBR’s end. We are in talks with FBR to remove the post,” they commented.
A dedicated team from RTO Sahiwal was deployed at the business premises to observe sales activity. During the monitoring process, authorities allegedly noted massive irregularities in declared turnover compared to on-ground sales.
Following the findings, enforcement proceedings were initiated. Cheezious was ordered to pay Rs. 4 million. It has been deposited into the national exchequer.
The operation was carried out by RTO Sahiwal under the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) tax framework. The RTO said it continues to intensify compliance measures against tax evasion.
The Chief Commissioner RTO Sahiwal appreciated the performance of the enforcement team and reaffirmed that such actions will continue to ensure improved tax compliance and safeguard revenue collection.
The authority emphasized its commitment to strengthening documentation culture, expanding the tax base, and taking strict action against any practices causing loss to the national treasury.
