24,000 Pakistanis Working Illegally in Spain Reportedly Get Residency

Pakistan has facilitated thousands of its citizens, as around 24,000 Pakistanis working illegally in Spain have reportedly secured a pathway to legal residency under a Spanish regularization scheme.

To support the process, authorities in Islamabad have issued 8,000 passports, 24,000 character certificates, and 10,000 affidavits, helping applicants meet documentation requirements before the deadline

The Spanish regularization initiative allows undocumented migrants meeting specific conditions to regularize their stay and obtain legal residency status. Pakistani applicants are among those benefiting from the scheme in significant numbers.

Officials said the documentation drive was launched to assist citizens abroad in completing legal formalities required by Spanish authorities. The coordinated effort aims to ensure that eligible individuals can comply with administrative requirements within the stipulated timeframe.

The development is expected to bring relief to thousands of Pakistani workers in Spain who have been living without legal status, allowing them to access formal employment rights and social protections under residency permits.
