Treet Battery Limited (PSX: TBL) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China’s Contemporary Nebula Technology Energy Co., Ltd. (CNTE) to explore long-term opportunities in Pakistan’s energy storage sector, according to a disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The company informed the exchange that the agreement was signed on May 25, 2026, and establishes a framework for strategic cooperation between the two companies in battery energy storage solutions.
CNTE is a Chinese energy storage technology company founded in 2019 and backed by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), one of the world’s largest battery manufacturers. According to the disclosure, CATL has maintained a leading global position in power battery usage volume and energy storage battery shipments in recent years.
Under the proposed collaboration, Treet Battery and CNTE will explore opportunities across residential, commercial, and industrial energy storage applications in Pakistan. The partnership is expected to bring CNTE’s CATL cell based energy storage technology, technical expertise, and product portfolio to the local market.
The company said the arrangement could leverage Treet Battery’s existing distribution network, market presence, and after sales infrastructure to support the deployment of advanced battery storage solutions in the country. The MoU also envisages the possibility of further value addition and local assembly in the future.
The development comes when Pakistan is witnessing growing interest in energy storage technologies due to the rapid expansion of renewable energy projects, particularly solar power installations.
Industry experts view battery storage as a critical component for improving energy reliability and maximizing the use of renewable energy resources.
Treet Battery stated that the agreement is aimed at exploring long-term business opportunities in Pakistan’s evolving energy storage market and strengthening its position in the country’s broader energy solutions sector.
