CDA Launches Workforce Audit Across All Departments

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a comprehensive review of its workforce and directed all departments to submit updated details of sanctioned posts and vacancies in grades BPS-01 to BPS-16.

Sources said the initiative is aimed at compiling an updated record of sanctioned positions and assessing the current workforce against approved staffing levels. The review is expected to help identify vacant posts, staffing shortages, and departments where additional human resources may be required.

In a circular issued by the Human Resource Development (HRD) Directorate, departments and divisions have been instructed to provide the required information within two days in a prescribed format. The data must be verified and attested by the relevant Deputy Director or Director.

The directive, issued with the approval of the Director General (HRD), has been classified as “Most Urgent,” reflecting the importance attached to the exercise by the authority.

According to the circular, the review covers a broad range of CDA formations, including administrative, engineering, planning, environment, health, estate management, enforcement, finance, legal affairs, municipal services, and water management departments. More than 100 offices have been included in the exercise.

Officials familiar with the process said the data will support future decisions related to recruitment, promotions, transfers, workforce planning, and organizational restructuring. The information may also assist the authority in budget planning and resource allocation across different departments.

The latest exercise comes as public sector organizations increasingly focus on workforce optimization and human resource management to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
