PIA Resumes Direct Flights Between Islamabad and Beijing

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the resumption of its direct flight service between Islamabad and Beijing from July 3, 2026, restoring a key air link between Pakistan and China.

The Islamabad-Beijing-Islamabad route is being revived amid rising demand from students, business travelers, tourists, and families looking for more convenient travel options between the two countries.

The direct service is expected to improve connectivity between the two capitals while offering passengers competitive fares, generous baggage allowances, and a more comfortable travel experience.

The development has been welcomed by Pakistani and Chinese students pursuing higher education in each other’s countries. Educational institutions, student groups, and travel industry stakeholders have also called the move timely, particularly with new academic sessions and the peak travel season approaching.

Industry observers believe the restored route will make travel easier for students, academics, and researchers, while also supporting stronger educational exchanges between Pakistan and China.

The service is also expected to benefit tourists and families planning summer travel by providing greater flexibility and reducing travel time compared to indirect routes.

Travel agencies and tourism operators have reported strong passenger interest since the announcement, reflecting the importance of direct air connectivity between the capitals of the two friendly countries. Many prospective travelers have welcomed the decision, saying it will make travel more convenient and cost-effective.

PIA management said the national carrier remains committed to strengthening bilateral connectivity and supporting cooperation in tourism, trade, education, and cultural exchanges.

The airline added that the resumption of direct flights aligns with efforts to deepen people-to-people contacts and further strengthen relations between Pakistan and China.
