The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorms in several parts of the country, while most plain areas are expected to remain hot and dry.
According to the department, weather conditions are likely to stay largely hot and dry across most regions today. However, rain is expected in parts of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, thunderstorms with rain are likely in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, and Malakand. Similar weather is also expected in Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Mansehra, and Abbottabad.
The department said some areas of Swat, Chitral, and Dir may receive thunderstorm-related rainfall, while Charsadda, Mardan, and other plain districts could also see rain accompanied by strong winds.
The weather report further noted that scattered rain and thunderstorms are likely in parts of Haripur, Waziristan, and Kurram, which may bring some relief and make the weather more pleasant in those areas.
Meanwhile, Islamabad is expected to remain hot and dry. The same conditions are likely to persist in other plain regions of the country, where the intensity of heat is expected to continue.
