Local Manufacturing
Airlink said the partnership supports local production in line with the government’s Made in Pakistan vision.
The company’s manufacturing facility in the Sundar Special Economic Zone in Lahore spans 1.4 million square feet. Airlink said the facility forms part of its wider ecosystem covering production, distribution, retail, online sales, and consumer financing through Buy Now Pay Later solutions.
The company currently employs more than 2,500 people, with women making up about 20% of its workforce.
Government Support
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan said the arrival of Hisense reflects Pakistan’s shift from a consumer market to a manufacturing and technology hub.
He said the Airlink-Hisense partnership combines global technology expertise with Pakistan’s growing manufacturing capacity.
Khan said the collaboration is expected to support technology transfer, skills development, job creation, and industrial growth. He added that locally assembled televisions and air conditioners can help reduce import dependence, save foreign exchange, and create employment.
Company Statements
Airlink Group CEO Muzaffar Piracha said the launch of Hisense in Pakistan is part of Airlink’s plan to make global technology brands accessible to Pakistani households.
He said Airlink will continue investing in local manufacturing, technology transfer, and innovation under the government’s Made in Pakistan vision. He added that the company aims to create jobs, reduce the national import bill, and support exports through local value-added manufacturing.
Hisense Asia Pacific President Mr. Finn said Pakistan is a strategically important market with strong growth potential.
He said the partnership combines Hisense’s technology background with Airlink’s manufacturing capabilities, nationwide reach, and understanding of local consumer needs. He added that the collaboration will also support Pakistan-China economic cooperation, technology transfer, bilateral trade, and industrial development.
The launch also follows Airlink’s earlier announcement that Select Technologies Limited, its wholly owned subsidiary, had entered into a strategic partnership with Hisense for the manufacturing and distribution of home appliances in Pakistan, including smart TVs and air conditioners.
