The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) distributed 1,619 pay orders worth approximately Rs. 462 million among victims of housing and investment fraud cases during a ceremony at NAB Lahore.
NAB Chairman Lt. Gen. Nazir Ahmed Butt (Retd.) oversaw the distribution, which covered recoveries from cases including Omega Residencia, Eden Housing, Abuzar Housing Scheme, Formanites Housing Scheme and Model Business Trade Centre.
In the Omega Residencia case, more than Rs. 145 million was distributed among 500 affectees through 1,308 pay orders in the first phase of payments. In the Eden Housing case, Rs. 39.74 million was disbursed through 150 pay orders. NAB Lahore said it has already transferred approximately Rs. 685.36 million to 5,571 claimants through online banking channels, bringing total disbursements in the Eden Housing case to Rs. 1.4 billion among 11,076 affectees.
Meanwhile, Rs. 186.19 million was distributed among affectees in the Suzuki Sialkot Motors case through 136 pay orders, while victims of the Abuzar Housing Scheme received Rs. 67.5 million. NAB also handed over Rs. 2.2 million recovered in the State vs. Abrar Hussain Jaffery case to the District Superintendent Postal Service, Mianwali.
Addressing the ceremony, the NAB chairman reaffirmed the bureau’s commitment to recovering public assets and providing relief to victims of financial fraud. He also urged citizens to verify NOCs, approved layout plans and the legal status of land before investing in housing schemes or real estate projects.
