Any increase in the salaries of Punjab government employees will be in line with the federal government’s decision in the upcoming federal budget.
Sources said that Rs. 650 billion is expected to be allocated for salaries, while Rs. 505.8 billion will be set aside for pensions. Punjab’s tax revenue is projected at Rs. 1,330 billion.
It has also been proposed to allocate Rs. 800 billion for the Punjab Finance Commission. In addition, Rs. 25 billion is suggested for social protection programs and Rs. 150 billion for the “Suthra Punjab” initiative.
The federal budget for the next fiscal year is likely to be presented on June 12 instead of June 10.
According to sources, Rs. 580.2 billion is recommended for operational expenditures, while Rs. 221.9 billion is proposed for other investment-related programs.
Furthermore, Rs. 54 billion is suggested for projects under foreign assistance, and Rs. 570 billion is proposed for other development and capital expenditures.
Total expenditures for Punjab are projected to reach Rs. 3,569.6 billion.
