The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 15-member men’s cricket squad for the upcoming Asian Games 2026, with experienced batter Sahibzada Farhan named captain for the tournament.
The cricket competition will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan from September 17 to October 3. The men’s T20 event is scheduled to begin on September 24 at Korogi Athletic Park in Aichi Prefecture, while the medal matches will be played on October 3.
Sahibzada Farhan brings major international experience to the squad. He has represented Pakistan in 46 T20 Internationals, scoring 1,305 runs in the format with two centuries and 10 half-centuries.
Abdul Samad has been appointed vice-captain. He has played five T20 Internationals for Pakistan.
The squad includes a mix of experienced players and emerging talent. Fast bowler Akif Javed, batter Maaz Sadaqat, pacer Ali Raza and Saad Masood are yet to make their Pakistan T20I debuts.
Fourteen players from the squad are also part of the National Cricket Academy’s White-Ball Camp, which is scheduled to begin in Lahore on June 15.
The 10-team men’s cricket competition will feature automatic qualifiers India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and hosts Japan. Nepal, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Oman earned the remaining spots through the qualification process
