Al-Azhar University Egypt Announces Scholarships for Pakistani Students

The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan has announced an increase in scholarship seats for Pakistani students at Egypt’s renowned Al-Azhar University, raising the number of available scholarships from 30 to 50 for admission to the Bachelor’s Program in Shari’ah Sciences (Islamic Studies).

According to official details shared by HEC, the opportunity has been communicated through the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt, confirming expanded educational collaboration for Pakistani students in Islamic studies.

Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply for this prestigious scholarship to pursue undergraduate studies at one of the world’s leading institutions of Islamic learning.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be Pakistani or AJK nationals and possess educational qualifications in Shari’ah Sciences, Islamic Studies, Shahadat-ul-Alamiya, Dars-e-Nizami, or equivalent disciplines recognized by relevant authorities.

Candidates with qualifications outside Islamic Studies or Shari’ah-related fields will not be eligible. Applicants must also meet the admission requirements set by Al-Azhar University and the Egyptian authorities.

Application Deadline

The last date for submission of applications and hard copies is June 29, 2026. Applicants have been advised to submit complete applications well before the deadline, as incomplete or late submissions will not be considered.

Required Documents

Applicants are required to submit attested copies of academic certificates, transcripts, passport-size photographs, birth certificate, valid passport, character certificate, medical certificate, and other relevant documents.

A No Objection Certificate (where applicable) and admission form must also be included.

Application Procedure

Candidates must apply online through the Al-Azhar University International Students Portal at Al-Azhar University International Portal and follow the guidelines available at Application Guidelines.

After completing the online application, applicants are required to submit two sets of printed and attested documents to the designated address in Islamabad’s Diplomatic Enclave.
