Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho has formed a high-level committee to modernize the provincial police force in line with current technological and operational needs, according to The News.
Additional IG Establishment Training. Iqbal Dara will head the committee, which includes senior officials such as DIGs of Establishment and West Zone, AIGs of State Management and Finance, and representatives from East Zone Investigation. The Establishment AIG will serve as the committee’s secretary.
The committee will review the integration of modern policing tools, including artificial intelligence systems, cybercrime units, drone-based aerial surveillance, special investigation and security forces, and professional media and strategic communication teams.
Officials said the body will also assess the police department’s staffing needs and evaluate the requirement for IT experts and other skilled professionals.
It will recommend a structured framework for recruiting, transferring, or assigning officers to specialized modern policing roles.
The initiative aims to align Sindh Police with global law enforcement standards by improving technological capacity, strengthening cybercrime response, and enhancing operational efficiency.
