Islamabad’s Famous Fast Food Outlet Sealed Over Alleged Tax Fraud

Authorities have sealed a well-known fast food outlet ‘redapple’ operating inside F-6 Markaz, Islamabad, over allegations of issuing unverified sales tax receipts.

According to initial reports, the action was taken after concerns were raised regarding the alleged issuance of non-authenticated or improper tax invoices. Tax enforcement teams later intervened and sealed the premises.

This is the second major enforcement action against a popular food and beverage business in recent days, following the sealing of multiple outlets of the Double Shot coffee chain in Lahore.

The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) had earlier sealed branches of Double Shot over alleged violations of electronic invoicing rules, mismatch in declared sales, and suspected under-reporting of revenue through the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (EIMS).

Authorities maintained that such practices result in loss of legitimate tax revenue and constitute violations under provincial tax laws.
