Lahore Traffic Police has expanded commercial driving license services for rickshaw drivers by adding three more centers across the city.
According to Chief Traffic Officer Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi, rickshaw drivers can now obtain commercial licenses from four locations: Manawan, Ichhra Licensing Center Town, Greater Iqbal Park, and Wapda Town.
The new centers will operate from Thursday to Sunday, making the process easier for drivers who previously had to visit only the Manawan center. The move is expected to reduce travel time, delays, and pressure on a single facility.
The CTO said the initiative is aimed at making the licensing process more accessible, efficient, and citizen-friendly.
He added that QR-code-based panic buttons will also be installed in rickshaws after licensing to improve passenger safety.
