Punjab Plans Six New Free MDCAT Preparation Centers

The Punjab government is considering expanding its free MDCAT preparation program by establishing six additional coaching centers in government colleges across the province.

The move comes in response to growing student demand for free medical college entrance exam preparation. Under the proposed plan, new centers will be set up in major divisional headquarters to provide greater access to aspiring medical students.

The Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) Colleges has submitted a formal proposal to the Higher Education Department for approval of the new centers.

Officials said that 54 MDCAT preparation centers operated across Punjab last year, with the estimated cost of managing each center standing at around Rs100,000.

The program has benefited thousands of students over the past three years by providing free coaching and academic guidance for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT).

Authorities expect new MDCAT preparation camps to begin next week, while the official schedule will be released after final approval from the Higher Education Department.

Officials believe the expansion will help more students access quality preparation resources free of cost, a step that has received positive feedback from both students and parents.
