The Balochistan government has officially announced a two-day public holiday across the province on the occasion of Ashura, observed on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.
According to a notification issued by the provincial government, all provincial offices, educational institutions, and autonomous bodies will remain closed on June 25 and 26.
The holidays aim to ensure the religious sanctity of Ashura and provide convenience to the public for participating in mourning processions and religious gatherings.
The provincial decision follows a similar announcement by the Federal Government. The Cabinet Division issued a notification earlier this week declaring nationwide holidays for Ashura.
In a separate move to ensure security in the federal capital, authorities have imposed a ban on pillion riding during the 9th and 10th of Muharram, though mobile phone signals will remain active.
In Balochistan, security has also been heightened along procession routes, with law enforcement agencies placed on high alert to maintain peace and order.
