Donald Trump to Present Trophy at FIFA World Cup Final

US President Donald Trump is set to present the FIFA World Cup final trophy on July 19 at New York/New Jersey Stadium, FIFA President Gianni Infantino has confirmed.

Speaking on Fox & Friends, Infantino said he and Trump would attend the final together and hand over the trophy to the winning team.

“We will be together with the president enjoying the final and handing the trophy to the winner, of course, together,” Infantino said.

FIFA did not issue any further statement and said it had no comment beyond Infantino’s remarks.

The announcement comes as Infantino continues to maintain a close relationship with Trump. In December, he awarded the US president the first edition of the FIFA Peace Prize, a newly created honor introduced by the FIFA chief.

Trump was previously part of the trophy ceremony at the Club World Cup last year, where he presented the trophy to Chelsea at the same East Rutherford, New Jersey, stadium. He received both boos and cheers from the crowd and later stood among the Chelsea players during their trophy lift, leaving some players visibly confused.

Since then, Trump has also attended several major sporting events in the New York metropolitan area, including the US Open men’s tennis final, the Ryder Cup, and the NBA Finals.

The FIFA World Cup is currently being played across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The expanded 48-team tournament will conclude on July 19, with the final scheduled at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The final is also expected to include a Super Bowl-style halftime show, adding another major entertainment element to the tournament’s closing match.
