The Lahore Development Authority(LDA) on Wednesday sealed another 140 properties over illegal commercial use and fee defaulters.
Acting on the directions of Director General Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Tahir Farooq, the LDA Town Planning Wing has intensified its crackdown against illegal commercial buildings across the LDA-controlled area.
LDA teams carried out operations in Gulberg, Model Town Extension, Jubilee Town, Canal Road, Samanabad, Gulshan Ravi, Mustafa Town, and Azam Garden against unauthorized commercial activities and commercial fee defaulters.
During the operation, 28 properties in Gulberg and Model Town Extension and 19 properties in Jubilee Town were sealed for illegal commercial use.
Another 70 properties located on Canal Road, Samanabad, and Gulshan Ravi were sealed for unauthorized commercial activities and non-payment of commercialisation fees.
As part of a recovery drive, LDA teams also sealed 23 properties in Azam Garden and Mustafa Town.
The sealed properties included private schools, banks, colleges, grocery stores, cafés, restaurants, food outlets, estate offices, bakeries, pharmacies, beauty salons, clinics, auto workshops, shops, offices, and other commercial establishments operating in violation of LDA regulations.
Chief Town Planner-I Asad uz Zaman and Chief Town Planner-II Azhar Ali supervised the operation.
