Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has invited Indonesian companies to invest in the province’s economy, highlighting major opportunities in infrastructure, logistics, renewable energy, information technology, manufacturing and agriculture.
Speaking to media representatives after attending the Indonesian-Pakistan Investment and Business Forum, the chief minister said Sindh wanted to attract foreign investment through new development projects, investor-friendly policies and improved facilitation services.
Murad Ali Shah said the provincial government planned to develop a new deep-sea port at Keti Bandar, which could create major opportunities in trade, logistics and maritime commerce. He also announced plans to establish a Sindh International Facilitation Centre in Karachi to streamline services for local and foreign investors.
The chief minister said Sindh was also working on AI-enabled data centres powered by affordable and sustainable energy, describing digital transformation as a key part of the province’s economic strategy.
He said Sindh remained Pakistan’s economic hub due to Karachi’s ports, industrial zones, financial institutions and trade networks. He added that the province offered strong investment potential in solar and wind energy, agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, information technology and value-added industries.
Murad Ali Shah said the Sindh government was committed to creating a business-friendly environment through governance reforms, infrastructure development, digital services and investment facilitation.
Addressing the forum, he thanked Indonesian Consul General Mudzakir and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry for organizing the event and bringing together business leaders from both countries.
He said Pakistan and Indonesia shared historic ties based on mutual respect, common values and long-standing cooperation. He added that stronger economic engagement could further deepen bilateral relations.
Referring to discussions on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between Pakistan and Indonesia, the chief minister said such an agreement could boost trade, attract investment and reduce barriers to business.
He urged entrepreneurs, chambers of commerce and investors from both countries to strengthen business-to-business linkages, identify complementary strengths and pursue joint ventures.
Murad Ali Shah assured Indonesian companies that the Sindh government would provide full support and facilitation for investment projects and long-term partnerships.
